EYEBROW ON FLEEK?

I’m not naturally an artistic person so that might give you an idea of my make-up struggles. Imagine the dread when make-up came and said no more straight-line eyebrows. The straight lines wey I just dey struggle achieve, sometimes it will be like flyover, some other times it will look like that yellow wooden ruler from secondary school.
What have I not tried? Spoon, pen, brush, cello tape, paper tape even eye-nose measurement. Everywhere I look, I see fleek eyebrows and even though I love them, I can’t draw them. Days before my outing, I would be very confident about the change that has to happen and the way my skills will come through for me, the night before, I would be psyched about how well the eyebrows will turn out, I would have imagined the curves and edges and how well I would look. Gbam! Fast forward to the day and my eyebrow will just be wicked for no reason.
The struggles start with looking for someone to help shape the brows. Shape not shave eyebrows o yet some people will shave it and leave you looking like bush baby in Yoruba Nollywood movies, ‘egbere’, thereby destroying your ‘I woke up like this’ future. Take this from me: nothing zaps your self-confidence more than bad looks that you are well aware of. You’ll become insecure and if anybody looks or is seeming to look at you, in your mind you’re like ‘it’s the brow’, if it’s now fine boy nko? Hmm, just die there.
One minute, bushy eyebrow, the next, fiam! There’s nothing there and the shame begins. It will even enter prayer request at some point that your eyebrows should grow quickly. If you’re now unlucky and the enemy of progress mistakenly cuts you, lobatan, that’s the end, it will never grow back now be looking like accident. ‘If I could turn, turn back the ends of time…’🎶🎵
Let me confess that most of my make-up ‘tools’ are stolen from my sisters, I mean why should I buy these things with my money when I have four sisters and can take it without them noticing and even when they do, they’ll kuku just dash me. Maybe that’s why my makeup no dey alright.  So after getting someone to shape it, I will arrange my ‘tools’, you know how we all see them do in those make up tutorials thinking that the spirit will fall on me, set them on the table, look into the mirror, sit straight , pray, prophesy, good vibes only and gentlemen, shall we?
Some pencil marks, occasional wipes and some ‘I’ll start again’ or outright, ‘I give up I’m kuku wonderfully made’ and sometimes just when I think I’m done, it looks unequal and lopsided and when I try to rectify it, it becomes worse.
Eyebrow on fleek once made its slimy way onto my New Year resolutions one time. I mourn for my wasted mb, the YouTube videos, Instagram posts, Google’s ‘how tos’ and yet I still can’t draw a decent eyebrow. My case is hopeless jare, the struggle is real, infect I yaf tire.
So anytime you see me with fine makeup especially fleek eyebrows, it’s probably not me who drew it or maybe I was just lucky. And anytime you see ‘artwork’ on my face, give credit to this wonderful artist ‘cause it certainly wasn’t easy.

"Delilah's tale"

I've stayed with you, Goliath
You preyed on me and left
Burn in hell Goliath
You took my strength
I ran to the hills to get us help
Oju mi ti rii mo pada wale
(I saw terrible things and came back home)
What people say I don't hear
I realise that I still care
Without you, I am better
Without you I am strengthened
It's just like I need your poison
Duro timi jowo ma lo
(Stay with me please don't go)

Oh oh oh
I'm still in denial
Oh oh oh
I always look back o
Oh oh oh
Mo ti d'oni wakuwa o
(I've now become a nasty person)

You always were my man crush back in the day
I loved,  but I was dying from the brutal pains
Now that I've strength to throw your heart away
I feel like I don't deserve it
We all have lied
Once in a while
Alainidarinji o
(One who never forgives )
You too dey like
My black eye
Goliath mayweather
Mo ti fi e sile, Mo tilo
(I've left you, I'm gone)

Oh oh oh
Damn you Goliath
Oh oh oh
I'm not coming back
Oh oh oh
Mo n lo bi to dara o
(I'm going to a better place)
Oh oh oh
Damn you Goliath
Oh oh oh
I'm not coming back
Oh oh oh
Mo n lo bi to dara o

Oh Damn Goliath
I'll build my life from you
Please forget about me
I am better off without you.

You've just been scammed😎

Here are top three things that have scammed you, that are scamming you and that will still scam you whether you know or not, you think it's not true, check it out:
3. TIME: even though an asset, yet a scam. So fast yet you keep building on it. What happened to double promotion, choker, flip phones, blah blah blah?  All in a bid to gain time, time that we don't have and it will never be enough. use it well no doubt, but make memories and build relationships too. Nothing is more painful than regrets.
2. SCHOOL: At number 2 is this popular phenomenon. This one will still scam you whether you know or not. As an African,  you can't just tell your parents you no wan go school. Even if you know it's not your way, you still have to go yet this "thing" called school takes time, effort and a whole lot of other things. It's exhausting yet we put in effort because we are getting scammed and we have to.
1: presenting the master scam, the greatest scam of all, sold to us irrespective of age, race, etc, ADULTHOOD. As children we wanted more responsibilities, less childish nicknames,  more of everything, now, we want less but we can't get it. We wanted to sweep and wash our clothes even when we couldn't,  now we can, we no longer want to yet we have to. If we could turn back the hands of TIME, we would spend more time being children, now we know for sure. "WE'VE JUST BEEN SCAMMED"

This is a new introduction,  I know but I had to, couldn't help myself 😉.  I'm stressed to the bones but I still have a lot to do even though technically I'm supposed to be on holidays,  but I still love y'all so this is me posting from a place of love. Till next time,
